Connie Melanson-Savoy - Executive Director

Connie has been with Inclusion Advocacy since December 2003 as the Executive Director.  Born in Saint John to a large family, she has lived in Moncton since 1994 with her husband Bernard and seven children.She has a Bachelors degree in Physical Education from UNB, and Post Graduate studies in Psychology, Education and Inclusive Education.

She has over 30 years experience in Recreation, including the YMCA and municipalities in Saint John and Fredericton and spent 14 years as Director of Recreation and Leisure Services with Centra-Care Inc.  Connie has over 25 years experience with ACL (Association for Community Living) at the local and provincial levels and is a Facilitator and Trainer for "Circle of Friends" (Intentional peer relationships) and PATH (Person centred futures planning).

Connie sits on numerous boards and committees such as the Moncton Accessibility Committee, Greater Moncton Down Syndrome Society and South Eastern Regional Adult Literacy Board and is a past member of the District Education Council. Connie is a strong advocate for the people she serves, and works tirelessly on behalf of them and their families.

She has won a number of awards for her passion and commitment including the YWCA 2007 Woman of Distinction “Woman in Public and Community Service”.

CALP Facilitator

Inclusion Advocacy runs the oldest adult literacy program in the Greater Moncton Area.

  • This grant was cancelled in 2020 so this program is currently no longer offered
