Inclusion Advocacy SENB (IASENB)
Promotion de l’inclusion SENB (PISENB)
IASENB/PISENB is a non-profit, registered charity #107449530RR0001, dedicated to protecting the rights and promoting the interests of individuals with an intellectual disability, and their families in South East New Brunswick.
The Association was initially formed as an advocacy committee in 1984, responsible for providing vocational, educational and advocacy to individuals with an intellectual disability. In 1987, the advocacy committee incorporated and became the Greater Moncton Association for Community Living Inc – Association pour l’integration communautaire du grand Moncton.
In 2016 our name and logo were to Inclusion Advocacy SENB (IASENB) Promotion de l’inclusion SENB (PISENB). This new name better reflects the Association’s mandate of Promoting Full Inclusion in our communities as well as that we serve South East New Brunswick.
IASENB is one of approximately 10 remaining ‘Local’ volunteer associations affiliated with the (provincial), New Brunswick Association of Community Living, (NBACL) and one of approximately 400 locals across Canada affiliated with the (national), Canadian Association for Community Living, (CACL). Association members include individuals, family members, professionals, and friends. IASENB works hard to provide appropriate support for people with an intellectual disability to live, learn, work and participate alongside non-handicapped people in their community.
While affiliated with the provincial and national ACLs, IASENB receives no financial support from these associations and depends primarily on our local fundraising initiatives to continue its work in ensuring that children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities are valued, active and contributing members within our communities. The success of these initiatives depends on the generosity and support of our community.
